Galerie Urs Meile, Beijing-Lucerne, represents Ai Weiwei, He Yunchang
(A Chang), L/B (Lang/Baumann), Li Dafang, Li Zhanyang, Liu Ding, Meng Huang,
Anatoly Shuravlev, Not Vital, Wang Xingwei and Xie Nanxing: established
as well as emerging artists, working in various mediums, such as painting,
photography, video, sculpture and installation art.
The gallery is operating from two locations (Beijing, China and Lucerne, Switzerland).
While the administrative center is in Switzerland, the Beijing gallery –
which is situated right in the middle of the art and gallery district Caochangdi –
has developed into an important meeting place for collectors, curators and
art aficionados. Apart from four exhibition spaces, the building complex designed
by Ai Weiwei also accommodates the artist-in-residence program which the
gallery initiated, offering Western artists an opportunity for staying and working
in Beijing for several months.
